New Special Needs Scouting Committee Formed

BSA's policy is to provide a quality character development program for as many youth as possible. Foothills District has created a new committee to provide support to Foothills Scouters and Units on issues related to serving Scouts with special needs.

Our initial plans are to provide materials for Roundtable on Special Needs Scouting, support for advancement committees on possible accommodations and alternative requirements, and training for Scouters. We are planning to have a day-long training on Special Needs Scouting either in the late winter or early spring.

Robert Montgomery, BSA [at] Behavior-Consultant [dot] com, is the Chair of the committee and is seeking Scouters interested in participating who have experience in providing programming to Scouts with special needs. If interested please contact Robert via email or by phone (404-368-9100).
