District Award of Merit Nominations

This prestigious award is given to deserving Scouters who have served their Unit and the District meritoriously. It is also helpful to have been active in the community.

How does one attain this award? One must be nominated by his/her fellow peers. This is one way we can recognize those around us who have served diligently for the benefit of our youth. This award is given for exemplary duty and accomplishments in both Scouting and other youth programs. The recipient's actions and accomplishments must serve the Boy Scouts of America within the District. Each year the District is allowed to select 4 Scouters to receive this award. The District Chairman convenes a Select Committee of prior recipients of the Award of Merit to receive and evaluate nominations for this award.

Nomination forms should be sent to Ginny Acocella.  Her contact information is on the attached form.

The Award of Merit is the highest honor a District may bestow upon a District Scouter. Deadline for nominations is January 10, 2008!
